Well, you made me realize that Hopscotch’s frame rule system is broken again. Since every clone now executes ALL of its rules BEFORE the next clone starts executing any of them, that means I can’t have all clones set something in the first rule, then have every clone read it in the second rule.
Maybe that’s how it was intended, but that makes things like sorting much much harder…
Basically you’re limited to one read/write per frame, which is super annoying imo. This weird broadcast and sort thing is about as fast as two-way comparison can go because of that.
With sorting, generally you can also take a minimum of a list, and set first available clone’s data to minimum, and remove it, but because of this limitation, you have to write all the data in frame 1, then the first clone can only read it on frame 2. It might still be faster, as that could take as “little” as 10 seconds for 600 items (1 frame per item), which can still be considered pretty slow.
Basically, if the frame rule worked as I think it should (clone 1 rule 1, clone 2 rule 1, clone 1 rule 2, clone 2 rule 2), then we can brute force it all into one frame. Otherwise you really can’t do that because only one clone can have the latest combined data at any time.
Current order = clone 1 rule 1, clone 1 rule 2, clone 2 rule 1, clone 2 rule 2

If it helps, I have direct contact with THT (since I’m interning with them) and can usually get the project removed much quicker. But yeah app moderation and forum moderation are very different
