15 with 2 minutes each or 10 with 3 minutes each – so whatever you wanna do but prob not more than 35 mins
Thanks a lot! It would be great if you could make some, I need it in a week since it’s for a game in the summer competition.
Ok thanks! I’ll check that out!
“My real name is… only some people know it”
can i be named “some people” and have knowledge of your name? :PP
other than that, i think your in-progress game list in your website needs to be updated
im not entirely sure if im allowed to do it since i am participating in the summer comp—@FearlessPhoenix (sorry for the tag) is this ok?
if i can, then what kind of music (suspenseful, happy, etc.), how long should it be, and where should i code it?
i would also like to say i make no guarantee to finish as i may not have time but i will try
It would be action music if that makes sense? Like maybe suspenseful? I don’t know much about music (mainly why I’m asking in the first place lol) but if it helps the game is about being a ninja in Japan and dodging obstacles which might help you get an idea.
Also why wouldn’t it be allowed? /genq
ah ok
so would doing the mission impossible theme work?
idrk to be honest, it should be
Sure! That would be great, thanks a lot!
should i just do it in a separate project and give the link?
also should i stick to using regular notes or is it ok to do advanced mode ones?
Yes please. And can you try not to use custom rules or variables because then it won’t work in my project. And it would take a while to remove them all. You can use advanced mode
you can use ae’s builder to import nobody’s music as a preset, and choose to not include custom rules/abilities in it :))
I don’t really know how to do that so do you mind showing me? I don’t even know what the project builder is lol
i can, give me around 5 minutes
Ok thanks so much!
no worries
so you can technically do that but just know that the music wont be considered in the judging then – if it is, then its more of a collab thing since music is a bigger part of the project than say, a sprite commission or something graphical, and you’re already submitting another project and you cant do two
so obviously points wont be taken off but if the music would otherwise end up being something that’s the deciding factor for a borderline score in like… complexity or organization (something determined by the person coding it) then we just wont factor that in since starlight didnt code that and it can’t necessarily be considered on the same level as the rest of the project
its akin to remixing an engine or commissioning a code package for a specific purpose – absolutely fine to do, perfectly acceptable to use, but wont be equally considered as its not yours, and we’ll just focus more on the other things that the submitter did do
amazing explanation, i know, but i’m on break and shouldnt be working so we let it side lolol
The Project Builder is one of the many useful tools on Awesome_E’s GitHub page.
But music isn’t a category that gets judged so I wouldn’t be gaining points by coding the music myself right? And will using the music ruin chances of the project getting nominated on excellent, rising, or masterpieces? (Kinda random question but it’s on my mind)
But would that actually transfer to the app?
You would need a save HS project shortcut, but yes. It would be saved to your draft. Some modifications of the shortcut are required if you run iOS 15 or later. Just set the last action to overwrite if exist. I have mine set to save to the folder “json_projects”, where the subpath is the renamed item, so it does it automatically.
