Actually it’s looking pretty good so far imo!

This is a super basic version of a roguelite i’m coding that probably won’t go anywhere buttttt we’ll see!

Also I know it may be confusing that i’m making this while i’m waiting on a couple things to fully change my coding and update schedule but i’m not really taking this seriously this is mainly for fun lol

You should make it so you can dodge the attacks with a cool down

woah that’s really bad, it’s getting to ≤ 10fps in a couple of places.

I’ll definitely look into that. What device are you using?

Huh, that’s an older one but I wouldn’t expect it to be this bad. Oh well lol

Darn you did it so fast!!!

Here’s what I did

What why does the scroll actually look so smooth

you should consider doing faster cloning though :)

6 Likes

or hiding the cloning process, if that wouldn’t be too noticeable to the players, since faster cloning might make the code more complicated

I don’t think it’s too complicated… just look at this project: Custom Grid (The "Colorful" Update) by Crosbyman64

Really, the only thing that’s complicated is the positioning…

yha, or i can make a really snazzy loading screen

how would clone times 100 more it more complicated?

I really don’t like waiting for loading screens unless it’s absolutely necessary to initialize everything. If waiting time can be removed, I think it should be.

there is something that @C.H.Rissole made about fast grid loading but ill look at later im on my pc rn

I think

Self.x = 0
repeat(times: width):
    Self.y = 0
    repeat(times: height):
        create_a_clone_of_this_object
        increase(y, by: 1)
    increase(x, by: 1)

is simpler than using math, because it’s less abstract

oh, I see what you mean
