Version 3.64.0 Official Topic

Hey Hopscotchers,

Get ready for a game-changer: you can now rotate your objects on stage! This will help you visualize your game better while coding on stage.

In addition, projects with the request seed blocks will no longer be automatically removed from the app. Instead, these projects will go through the filtering process similar to projects containing custom art when you publish them. Subscribers can also access their seed dashboard by logging in to https://community.gethopscotch.com/sign_in.

As always, if you have any questions/comments/feedback, please email us at help@gethopscotch.com. Happy Hopscotching!

Will the seed devs ever get the seed block back again?

At the moment, there’s no plan to change this, so you’ll likely need a subscription to access the seed block for a while.

Cool. A small, but really great addition. It’ll be interesting to see what else you’ll add in the future…

awesome! how do you do that?

Just a note: there’s a bug with resizing text at the moment, which we hope to fix soon in a hotfix update.

When you resize text, it doesn’t appear at the right size when you let go. And when you play the project, the text doesn’t appear at the same size as it is in the editor.

You can rotate objects by pinching and twisting on the stage!

It’s as easy as pressing two fingers on the object and twisting them.

Well I’m breaking my silence after a few weeks

@Yuanyuan The dashboard is no longer accessible to seed developers, and I am aware that we no longer have access to the seed block, but please remember that we still have projects with the seed block. The dash board gave us some very crucial information. I’m hoping you’ll think about returning the dash board to us. Every time there is an update and I get back on the forum, a feature we used to have is eliminated, and I’m pretty sick of it. /lh Given that some things were promised and then gradually taken away, this feels almost upsetting. Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Hey @Henry,

I will note down your feedback and consider it for future changes.

I know it’s upsetting to not be able to access the feature that you used to be able to have. However, we did not make the changes to intentionally eliminate the seed block feature from seed developers. We made this change to make sure that everyone has an opportunity to use the seed block. You can now gain access to the seed block by subscribing to Hopscotch, instead of having need to wait for the seed developer program to open and to get selected to participate.

As I mentioned before, there were lots of perks that came with being a seed developer - seed developers were able to use the seed block before anyone else and earn seeds while having a special channel to promote their projects. This experience hopefully has a long-lasting positive impact for our seed developers other than just the access to the seed block.

I know that for our seed developers, this is a drastic change that will take some time to get used to. I would be happy to give you more explanations over a meeting if you want. You can send me an email at hello@gethopscotch.com or yuanyuan@gethopscotch.com, and I will arrange a meeting for us to talk!

Hey!
I agree with Henry, unfortunately mentors said that we would keep the block forever, but please consider granting seed developers free access to the block.

@t1_hopscotch is the new webplayer version (2.2.3) effective in the current HS version, or will it be effective in the next HS version?

Edit: I looked through the webplayer, and have seen quite a lot of "hasNoiseEvent"s in it. One big one I saw was “Could not access the microphone”
