Version 3.36.1: Faster playing and better shapes

Hi there, due to an error while uploading to the app store the latest version of Hopscotch has the wrong release notes :woman_facepalming:t2:
Here’s what changed, please add your comments, bug reports, etc. here:

Topline Features

  • Opening the player for the first time in a draft is fast and responsive.
  • Shapes are now their true and proper size forever and ever done. (Try using set width and height to the iPad width and height with various shapes to see what I mean)

Bug Fixes

  • Make the Already Subscribed button on the checkout page sign you in if you are a subscriber
  • Stop projects from growing too huge by deleting empty abilities (this seems to be the root cause of a new bug, we’re sorry!)
  • Tapping the publish button twice really fast will no longer cause a crash
  • Save and Exit will use the proper screenshot for your draft
  • Added help text to all the shapes

After I updated, 1 of my projects load forever when I pressed play. Is it because of the size of the project? Cause it’s my biggest one so far.

So any solution and am I the only one with thus problem?

Edit: Never mind it works now.

Ok but is there a way to fix it?

I don’t want this to keep happening every time I update. Especially if there is a contest and I need to work on a project everyday.

We should have a fix on monday.
In the meantime, see if you have any blue container blocks (such as an if/else or repeat) with nothing in them and either delete them from your code or add a block inside

It works when I put the entire code of some objects in one custom rule.

For example I have an object named circle.

I made a custom rule called “circle code”

Then I put all the code in circle inside the custom rule.

I did that for some objects then it worked.

Does putting code inside a custom rule decrease the project/file size or something?

It’s just unorganized, because it wont be used again

I discovered that too – custom rules increase file size but I don’t see why it fixes the issue.

We mean that putting object code inside a custom rule somehow solves a freeze issue
