Upgrading project’s players results in lower framerate

if you upgrade a project’s player the framerate drops by a good 10-15 FPS
it’s pretty annoying because one of my projects would be 5x better with strings

I don’t think a topic has been made before about this (searched a little) but it could’ve been

Wow, how’d you find this? Make a custom frame rate checker in HS?

yes, it’s easy to do

HS FPS can be checked by adding a text box to your project (leave the field blank). Just increase the variable “frames” by 1. In a different rule, wait 1 second, then set the variable FPS to variable “frames.” Then set “frames” to 0. These variables should be game variables… This method would be the easiest to use, but there could be a method that works better…

Yeah, I’ve done it too. It’s very genius, if you ask me.

All projects? Did you add one to every clone index?

that I’ve noticed yes—I’ve updated 3 projects and 2 of 3 have had drops of more than 9 FPS while the other only dropped about 5fps

I did this to get around that because I have too many when self clone index = (x)

What happens if you update it manually through the JSON?

using your shortcut there seems to be no decreased framerate

though the project only has 100 clones

Hmm, I usually update via the shortcut anyway

So, what did you intend the project to do? Besides have better frame rate than it currently has…

I updated because of the new blocks that came out of beta

I really can’t explain what the project does without giving spoilers
