Unexpected clones

**What kind of device are you using?:**iPad 7, 11 (hs said that.)

1 sentence description of the problem (I was doing _________, and then __________ happened):
I was using clones to draw the eyes for a face, but when I played the project, there were three eyes instead of 2.

Steps that the Hopscotch team can take to reproduce my problem every time:
Im not sure if it happens every time tho
1.Add a text object, and add a create clone block
2.make both the clone and the original go to opposite sides of the center of the device
….

**I expected this to happen:**Two eyes

**But instead this happened:**Three eyes

Here’s a sweet screenshot:

That looks alien

I even checked the code. And for some reason I removed all the code from the clone, but still, the strange third eye remained.

Can you send a link? I have a feeling the third eye is the original object. You most likely didn’t make it invisible

No the original object drew one eye, there was only one clone

Could you send a link?

Weird, but it honestly looks pretty cool

Is the link

Weird. It’s probably an issue with your code, not a bug with the app.

weird.

Hm I’m not seeing anything wrong with the code, but I’ll keep looking

Ok found it! So in the skip button, it changes the scene to the first scene when the game starts. And so it creates 2 clones. I think what you wanted to do was “when self is tapped change scene to story 2”

Ooooooooohhhhhhhhhh… But still its kinda a bug

No because it changes the scene and that’s considered a game starts. When the game starts for the second time, the first clone is not new so it does the game starts too. And in the game starts, there’s a create a clone block, so it creates a clone

Oh. So we have to delete this topic i guess…

Nope, it’s fine I’m pretty sure. It could be moved to the Debug My Code category.

So When (Original Object Total Clones) <1: Create a Clone should fix it?

Or just put a check once if self clone index = 1

Thx i feel awkward now

I recategorize this since it seemed like it was just a game starts = scene starts issue. Please tell me if I interpreted that wrong.

It’s fine! Everyone makes mistakes from time to time.
