16 by 16 is often reffered to 16 bit because during the NES days most consoles could only run 16 bit processors

Usually just a list of colors/names of colors… (i.e. “dark blue, sky blue, sea green, forest green”), or it can just be a list of color codes (i.e. “#e55934, #d9594c, #ce8d66, #c3bf6d, #b7b868”)
