This event/competition/challenge is started by me (@KingGuin87) and all the currencies, rewards, and prizes are handled by me, not Hopscotch. You can find other similar self-started events in #competitions-and-events, or even start one yourself. Because this is started by me, Hopscotch and the forum leaders are not involved or responsible in any of the transactions here.

Welcome to The Blind Coding Contest!

The title already tells a lot; try to code any project you want but with your eyes closed!

Rules

You can have your eyes closed until you are in the editor. Then you close your eyes, and start coding with your eyes closed!

When you are done with all the code, you can open your eyes again. Are you happy with your project? Then share it and link the project in this topic! If you aren’t happy with your project, try again and see if it looks better!

You can submit as many projects as you want!

The deadline is on 2023-06-14T22:00:00Z, the winners will be announced on 2023-06-16T22:00:00Z and the prizes will be given on 2023-06-17T22:00:00Z.

Judging

I will be the only one judging the projects and they will be simply judged on how fun they are!

XD I have lots of practice drawing with my eyes closed (you can say I can do it eyes closed ;) but coding is an entirely different story!

Im guessing we can’t ask someone to tell us what we are tapping on?

And can we see where characters and stuff are if we do it in different times, like you do some and then save and go do something else, then you come back, do you have to close your eyes before you open your draft or can you open it, see where your characters are, and then close your eyes?

Correct. But here’s a good tip:

Turn on your sound to listen what block you use!

And can we see where characters and stuff are if we do it in different times, like you do some and then save and go do something else, then you come back, do you have to close your eyes before you open your draft or can you open it, see where your characters are, and then close your eyes?

Good question. I actually was thinking about creating the project in one time, but if you want to create a real big project with your eyes closed, then please close your eyes before you open the draft.

This is a really interesting idea.

The opposite is also an interesting challenge as well. Code with your eyes open, but don’t press the play button to test for bugs. This helps gauge how in control you are when coding.

Making a super huge project without testing it, and it has no bugs when completed, is super satisfying

Actually you can’t do that, but I can just kinda ‘cut’ of that bit.

Even though you , it’s still cool to create for an other project where you make a sort of ‘book’ of your attempts to try to code something!
