Texture Blocks In Hopscotch!

A great thing to see in Hopscotch is texture blocks. With this block, you can change the texture of objects. Lets say you are making Minecraft. For the wood, you could use a wood texture!

So, if you had a Chillanna that you wanted to make look wool and scarf-like, then you would put the change texture block in her code?

I can see how this would be useful.

Couldn’t you use images?

True, and you could do ‘set invisibility’ to make it look like it had texture

Ooh yeah

Well that would only be a glass texture

Well finding a wool textured Chillana would be hard…

Yeah, that is true (I mean I guess you could draw it, but I get what you’re saying)

cool idea, but can’t we make these with code?

I made an example way on how to make texture. Of course it could be improved on the fact that it is a rectangle

We’ll need images/complex code to make them

Well you used an image
And the texture applied to more than just chillanna

I think PNG images do a good job, but it would take a lot of them

Yes and they’re subscriber only

Do you think this is a good idea?

that’s kind of the point of getting the subscription?

Well but one of the reasons images are for subscribers is that moderation needed will be low
If this was added non-subs can use ‘images’ that don’t need moderation
This wouldn’t exactly be a gain for tht though

Picture are one thing, but finding the textures for them could be hard.
And not just chillana, but shapes, too.

I feel like hopscotch might have a hard time adding textures as well, idk

Textures could be in the sub then
