"Text" Trait not showing up

What kind of device are you using?: Some iPhone that has a fake home button released in 2017, iOS 13.5.1

1 sentence description of the problem: I wanted to access object text, and I expected to see the trait since strings went public. But it was not there.

Steps that the Hopscotch team can take to reproduce my problem every time:

  1. Open a non-beta editor project
  2. Go to objects

Here’s a sweet screenshot:

Or maybe I am mistaken, but I hope not.

I don’t think the option to access object text is even available in HS yet…

Huh. That happens to me as well. I wonder if they forgot to include that with the full release

It’s right here in the beta editor

Ok, what if it is beta exclusive still?

Possibly but it would’ve made since to go with strings rather than on its own

Yeah, but the variable probably wasn’t ready yet and was delayed or something…

Hold up, does that text variable do what I think it does?

You do know you can check your device’s model name under Settings > General > About, right?

Yes, I do know. Point is that the device isn’t causing the issue (iPhone 8)

quite possibly

I have noticed this but haven’t thought of it as a bug—just a feature that wasn’t implemented for non-beta editors

it makes sense as a bug though

Maybe it’s not in full release?

That’s exactly what I was thinking…

Huh, that’s weird. I have the object variable ‘text’ and I don’t even have the beta editor.

I’d imagine that’s what it is supposed to be for everyone

happens to me too

You sure you aren’t on the beta editor? The non-beta editor has no scenes view button (that will really prove it).

Same here. I even tried logging out and back in.
