Introduction:
Hey there, it’s me 894.
I’ve got a suggestion, while others have suggested this too, I still think it’s worth me having my say as well.
The Idea:
Well, really it’s as simple as just reading the topic’s title, but if you want a bit more, here you go.
Hopscotch is mostly known as an iPad app, sure it’s on the iPhone too, but what’s missing? The Mac!
While Hopscotch is available for macOS and requires an Apple M1 chip or later, it’s not too smooth, I dare say it’s kind of rough.
I would really like it if there was a proper macOS version of Hopscotch, it would be a really good thing to have!
Just a little clarification about the chip requirement
People do say that Hopscotch is only available for M1 Macs, but I recently received a MacBook Air that has a M2 chip, and Hopscotch works fine-ish.
Most posts that say it’s only available on M1 Macs were written before the release of the M2 chip, so there you have it, no offence anyone, but it’s probably not a good idea to rely on those in mid-2023.
Benefits for the users:
It would make Hopscotch on Mac more reliable, functional and enjoyable!
It would allow people who only have a macOS device to code more smoothly!
Benefits for The Hopscotch Team:
It would, theoretically, earn THT more money, as people who only have a macOS device might want to buy seeds or advanced mode!
I have an iPad Air 5 which has a M1 chip, and no, there’s not a single problem.
I’m pretty sure the problem is simply that the Mac is lacking a version, so it just uses the iPad version instead.
On a side note
Not all iPads currently sold at Apple have an M series chip.
You can check the Apple website for a bit more info if you’d like…
…Or you could ask me about it! I’m pretty knowledgeable about this kind of stuff!
Edit:
No, we’re talking about the iPad app that can be used (with a few minor bugs) on the Mac.
