Some way to interact with messages

A feature I’d like to see in Hopscotch is:

some way to interact with messages

I’d use it for this type of project:

where I have to have an object receive a message, but there is information in the message that I need to manipulate

Here are some examples of Hopscotch code that could be improved if we had this:

instead of setting a variable based on each scenario, it could be included in the message

Here is an example design I’ve made:

when message matches “hello” {
  set text to (message)
}

I’ve seen something similar in another programming languages, it looks like this:

I don’t think I have

  • I’d like to see this implemented
  • I wouldn’t like to see this

:sparkles:variables :sparkles: Can do this right?

they could, but if you had a lot of scenarios like that then your variables would get clogged up

there could be a self variable (orange, not yellow, like Clone Index or Rotation) called Last Message

they can’t be stored across objects
