My idea is that you select blocks, so when you click on a block, as well as copy, cut and delete, there would be an option called select, which would then make you select blocks by clicking in them. There would be three things you could do with them:
Select and copy, this would mean that you could copy code without having to copy one individual block at a time, or a big block.
Select and delete, this makes it easier to delete big chunks of code at a once, and would save a lot of time.
Select and comment, these would be an optional thing a user can add. Basically, you select multiple blocks and add a note about how it works. This would be useful if you are trying to explain something. I first thought of this when I looked at Williamâs trail art tutorial and saw that he had to use text blocks and abilities, and I thought it would be easier to have a proper way of doing it. After all, hopscotch is about learning from one another, and this would help people to explain things.
Thanks for the mention :o I made the project, and I totally agree! I make a fair amount of FTU code, and this would be awesome to have! The same goes for the other mentioned features.
I have something like this in my block rendering â it doesnât work so well on mobile, but you can tap the 3 bars on each block instead of dragging them to select them.
