Hi guys, so today in class I had a surprise maths test and im not sure wether my answers were correct, so my option was to ask you guys since ur so awesome with it <3

# Random Math Problem Solvers Topic

So two of them were:

What is (-2) to the power 3?

Given that m= 2 and n=6, what is mn squared?

These were the most confusing ones for me, it will help me a lot the next time I get a test

**JonnyGamer**#3

Question 1: (-2)^{3}

(-2) * (-2) * (-2) = answer

(-2) * (-2) = 4

4 * (-2) = -8

answer = -8

Question 2: (mn)^{2}

m = 2

n = 6

(2*6)^{2} = (12)^{2 }

12 * 12 = 144

answer = 144

K just one more

42-21+3

Is the answer 19 or 23?

Me and my math teacher were debating this one lol.

Plz help me settle the debate @JonnyGamer

**JonnyGamer**#7

The answer is 24

42 - 21 = 21

21 + 3 = 24

or

42 + 3 = 45

45 - 21 = 24

(42) + (-21) + (3) can be rewritten in 6 ways, thanks to the communative property of addition

drop de doodle do

Mayb im wrong bcz I thought that you have to use BODMAS and so I did:

21+3 = 24

42-24= 18

Oh wow your very senior to me, lol. Well now I know who to ask wen I need help with my maths h/w

(I have no idea how our teacher manages to confuse everyone;

He even writes 8/10 wen u have got 9/10 o-o)

**ArtisticCoder**#16

We only have algebra and geometry in eighth grade…

Last year we only did integrated math

Talk about ppl in fifth grade knowing sine/cosine on this forum

**PartTimeFemale**#17

**ArtisticCoder**#19

I know right? When someone tried to explain to me all I heard was “Blahblahblahblahplaneblah…”

Lol am I that naive??
