1 sentence description of the problem (I was doing _________, and then __________ happened):
When I publish a project, the publish time is 50 seconds off

Steps that the Hopscotch team can take to reproduce my problem every time:

  1. Publish a project
  2. Look at it in your profile
    ….

I expected this to happen:
The thing to say like “3s” or “2s”
But instead this happened:
It said “53s” or “54s”
Here’s a sweet screenshot:

Lag possibly with Wifi and/or connection?

No, been happening all day and WiFi is fine

Hmmmm, do you need to update Hopscotch?

Oh yeah it did that with me earlier but I didn’t connect the dots

We are on the same wifi

Nope, it auto updates

Yee (same for me)

Idk then

That’s most likely because the time is calculated from when you tap the publish button, rather from when the publication process completes. Thus, the loading screen will cater for that 50 seconds which you have observed.

Just curious, next time this happens:

  • refresh your published

See if the time counts down instead of up.

Might be a correct_published_at vs published_at error or something of that nature. I saw a few project with that error yesterday in the Web Explorer (numbers were negative, app showed the absolute value meaning that it counted down in the app then counted up again).

It goes down

Don’t think that’s why it happened—it published in 2 seconds and there was no lag (1 object + 1 rule test)

Yeah, I have noticed this too a few times. A small bug, but it would be cool if it could be fixed at some point.

Agreed, not major or anything

Nice, that means correct_published_at is sometimes being calculated incorrectly when a project is published.

Did you set your clock back to set atomatically after getting the winter characters?
