Problem: Limited lines in text objects

#1

I’m not sure if this is the right category for this since it is neither a bug report or a new feature suggestion, but I put it here.

This isn’t a new problem, it has been around for some years. Text objects will only display 44 lines, and this is troublesome when writing longer texts or, as in my case, want to create a pixel art like the one below.

If this is an easy fix I’d be glad if you did it, otherwise I could resize my pixel art to fit the 44 lines.

Here’s the whole text (left) and how it looks in Hopscotch (right):

Click on the images, couldn’t get them to show fully

did you mean to say the one on the right is how it looks on HS?

But nice spotting!

Revert your project to webplayer 24, which does not have this limit

It also doesn’t use the webplayer which also means you can’t use self variables, custom rules, set wid5 and height, and a whole bunch of other things.

It is also not something most people want to do.

This would be a great fix if it easy for THT to do!

yeah, but if you really want text, that is what you gotta do – it’s text or variables

Or, the hopscotch team actually fixes an apparent flaw that prevents users from writing more than 44 lines of text.

When this gets fixed, I’ll announce my text pixelator.
