A post is basically a reply! Technically right now, I am posting!

is a topic! I am posting on YOUR topic!
It can get confusing, because some people may say they are “posting” when they are really referring to creating a new topic. Topic is a general version, which can be created by clicking this button: 
While a post is a more specific version of your opinion that can be created on a topi, which can be created by clicking this button:
