Only the first line is sensed if an object sets text to text + variable

Use this template to make awesome bug reports:

Your username: Electogenius

What kind of device are you using?: iPad 7,11 apparently

1 sentence description of the problem (I was doing _________, and then __________ happened): I was making an object go down when it touches a text but the object didn’t sense the text…

Steps that the Hopscotch team can take to reproduce my problem every time:

  1. Add 2 blank texts
  2. Make the first one go forward and the second one set text to something like this:
((something pretty long like this) + (:arrow_forward:Variablename))
  3. If the first object touches the second, it should do something
  4. Make sure the first text is in line with the second line of the second text
    ….

I expected this to happen: Object to be sensed

But instead this happened: Object not sensed

This happened to me before! I was trying to make a game where you can’t see your enemies, so I used just a blank text because I thought it would work, but it didn’t. I didn’t think of making a bug report. Thanks for bringing this to everyone’s attention :).

I don’t think they mean literally nice but it’s like when you get a bruise or something people say “Nice bruise.” Of course the bruise is not actually nice, but thats just an expression. It goes that way when people say “Nice bug” you might have already known this, I was just trying to tell you they didn’t actually mean to hurt your feelings.
