In one word.

Also, if you see "Fren-pai" it's basically a combination of fren and senpai.
Fren means friend. :D

Senpai is a Japanese word. It's a rank. It's someone that is above you, but below the sensei (master).

For example, in a Karate class, the Senpai will be the most advanced student that usually helps the Sensei to keep everyone on track, or to explain the exercises.
