[Official] Winter Hopolympics 2019-2020

Hello Hops.

It’s winter, and that means it’s time for another official contest.
This year, our official Leader winter contest will be the winter Hopolympics! This, along with all future Hopolympics, will be hosted as Leader competitions, and that means a greater variety of prizes as well as some special surprises.

Similar to the summer contest, the other @Leaders and I will be judging, and we will invite a community member to judge with us. For this competition, we’ve invited back a legendary Hopscotcher to help us judge. You’ll know her, regardless of when you joined.
From now to January 15th, you’ll have time to create your teams and decide on everything. After that, you may start coding.

And now, without further ado:

Welcome To The 2019 Winter Hopolympics!

Theme: Countries
Dates: January 10th 2020 To March 26th 2020

Rules and General Information

The way this works is that there are six teams consisting of six members each and six categories. Each team will be a country and have a mascot. The mascot will be a Hopscotch winter character that relates to that country in some way. All projects must be related to either that character and country, and follow each given theme (listed below) at least once. Each team will submit one project into each category. These projects must be created by one person only. The rest of the team may help and give feedback but are not allowed to code it.

The categories are: Pixel Art, Trail Art, Games, Backgrounds, Use Of Math and Use Of Clones.
The themes are: Snow, By The Fire, Outdoor Activities, Indoor Activities, Backstory and Free.

Criteria for the themes:
Snow – your project must have snow depicted in it
By The Fire – your project must at least have an allusion to fire or an activity you do by the fireplace on a cold winter day
Outdoor Activities – your project must depict an outdoor activity one does in winter.
Indoor Activities – your project must depict an indoor activity one does in winter
Backstory – your project must relate to the given backstory/character description of your chosen Hopscotch character.
Free – your project may have any theme you would like.

You may mix and match the themes with the categories but you must use every theme at least once and submit one project for every category.

All projects must be coded and submitted prior to the deadline, otherwise they will not be accepted.

Teams

Each team will have six members, one per category. Each team may also have two backup members to fill in, in case a member is unable to code. To join a team, simply tag a leader and tell them which team to add you in.
Each team will have a leader-created team topic and closed category, as well as a temporary custom group to ensure complete privacy when discussing projects and ideas, so as to avoid copying. Teams and projects will be able to be unseen until judging time, during which THT and the judges will have access to the projects.
