Hello Hopscotchers!

Have yall ever seen those really silly ads that go some thing like this?

Where’s the grass the greenest? Some people say it’s on the other side of the hill… but how do you know? Never fear, Fearless is here! Introducing, the GrassGreener, a can of magical formula that is definitely not green spray paint. Just spritz a bit onto your grass and viola, perfect greenery :herb:

If you haven’t, then you’re in luck because you’re about to experience the magic of Usefully Useless Silly Products™️

We’re gonna kick off summer, a universally favorite time to sit around and do nothing but watch TV (aka ads), by contributing to the ad population! However we’re obviously making it fun so your ad has to be for an incredibly niche, silly and pretty useless product that you’ve invented

Then, you can either code your ad in Hopscotch or draw up an infomercial poster for it. All artwork should be posted in the DHT and linked here. Submissions will be accepted from between Friday, May 13, 2022 4:00 PM Coordinated Universal Time→Sunday, May 29, 2022 4:00 AM Coordinated Universal Time

Prizes will have 2 categories, one for coded submissions and one for drawn submissions but the prizes will be as follows for both:

1st Place:

  • 75 Seeds or 100 Hopbytes (you choose)
  • An incredibly special surprise that will be announced on June 6th
  • Leader Competition First Place badge

2nd Place:

  • 50 Seeds or 60 Hopbytes (you choose)
  • Leader Competition Second Place badge

3rd Place:

  • 25 Seeds or 30 Hopbytes (you choose)
  • Leader Competition Third Place badge

Coded winners will be curated and all participants will get the Leader Competition Participation badge + 10 HopBytes.
You’re welcome to accompany your submission into one of the above categories with a video presentation for an additional 5 HopBytes.

The surprise is incredibly secret but trust me when i say it’s worth it :eyes:

Questions:

  • can we do a drawing AND a coded project?
  • can we make a video? (All drawn but with multiple images or a voiceover)
  • can our product be something a that already exists?
