amazing! i’ll enter a shape art.
To give you an actual answer though, I don’t think Hopscotch even works if you change the stage size to that. Could be wrong, but it broke last time I tried that, I think

cuz i dont wanna spoil what category im doing
Cool. I will definitely try
This is confusing do i put shape arts in the trail art or shape art?
it’s a typo lol
if you coded the interpreter (string processor) yourself AND manually input all data, then its okay. if you’re using something automatic to make the strings, then its not
yep – thanks for the fix tracey!
Could a graphic design game count? And can we submit old projects?
we’re not really judging games in this comp --its more for art/music/code (innovation in general, hence the name)-- but if you code a new like… physics engine for a platformer then that counts under code snippets
and unfortunately no;
Thanks! Sorry I must’ve missed that part lol
heyo!! quick clarification regarding the whole confusion around manual submissions.
same thing but broken down further
creating your own string interpreter for pixel art
this is fine but would only be entered into code-snippets
creating your own string interpreter for pixel art given that you’re hand-coding the actual pixel art
this is fine but could also be entered into both (pixel art and code snippets)
using an existing string interpreter but manually generating the string itself
this is fine and can only be entered into pixel art
all of that ^^ is just what this section of the op is saying:
you can use an external generated string to demo a (hopscotch) pixel art engine you’ve made. so the breakdown of the project is as follows:
- pixel art interpreter engine → manual
- pixel art string → automated/not hand-crafted
we only accept manual projects into the categories, and because half of the project is manual (the interpreter) you can enter that only into code snippets. we wont judge the actual pixel art at all, but rather look at the code behind it only
if you want to enter both categories, both have to be manually coded
another example for a different category:
- trail art → manual
- background music → automatic (MIDI hack or something)
because only the trail art was manual and the music was added in using an automation shortcut, only the trail art will be judged
just a question, am i allowed to pixelise an image using pixel-stitch but use my own manual coding method?
What i mean is pixelate an image and use it as my template
but using my manual coding method
yes you do have to limit everything to hopscotch
that’s absolutely fine
Oh ok thanks, well, I’m not participating then /nm
no worries, we hope to see you in one of our other comps then :)) never any pressure to join although i would encourage it since it’s a great way to branch out and try new things
Anyone want to Collab.
Are collabs allowed?
just posted a random leader, not saying your random
