New App Store screenshots: thoughts?

Hi Hopscotch Forum

We’re working on new Hopscotch App Store screenshots (you know, those pictures you can see on the App Store when you’re looking for an app to see how it looks) and we want your opinion.

Any thoughts? Do you like them? What age do you think they look appropriate for? What do you think your parents will say? Can you show it to them? Why did they say?

Let us know!

Cheers,
Rodrigo

Ooo I really like those ideas! I think my parents would like them, and they would probably say that it looks very kid-friendly and welcoming. I think my dad would be especially impressed (he does a bunch of stuff with graphics )

When you say “kid-friendly”, what age (or age range) are you thinking about? Also, can you show it to your dad? That’ll be interesting. Thanks.

they look great both ways! personally, I prefer the first version. I think it looks very spunky and inviting, and my stepsister majoring in graphic design would be wowed ;))

they’re awesome, and i can’t wait for them to be implemented!

Those look amazing!
I showed them to my parents, they agreed and thought both of them looked super welcoming and child-friendly.
My parents preferred the first one, saying that the lighter colors gave it a softer touch whichever made it seem a bit more child friendly if that makes sense.
My personal preference was the second (darker) one tho

It’s very kid-friendly!
It looks like an age app for the age of ten about?

My parents would probably say it looks childish but I honestly love it!

Nice! I like the flow through each screen, and the graphics are really good. Definitely age appropriate.

Probably 6 through 12? And of course I’ll show my dad, he’s actually on a work trip right now so I’ll get back to you later.

They look really cool!
I think the lighter color makes it look more inviting for kids age 8+ or 10+, and the darker one makes it look more inviting to kids 11+.

This one (the second one) was better. Than the first one.

Which version would you personally be excited about if you saw it in the App Store?

  • Light one
  • Dark one
  • I don’t have a preference

I think a mix of light and dark would look kind of cool

Ooh yeah.
Maybe like a light/dark ombré or something.

But that might make it seem too busy

Ooo I like the idea of ombré. I was thinking some of the pictures should be dark, and some of them should be light.

Ooh yeah, that’d be cool!
