Sooo I make the topic?
moment of confusion
If you want to write up a draft so I can look over it, that should be fine. Again, Iâm seeing if I can get a second opinion but if I donât respond in a few days, you can make the topic.
Ohhh okay okay⌠to be honest I really wanted the great topic badgeâŚ
Yeah apologies for any confusion I caused.
Itâs quite a hard badge to get (Great Topic = 50 likes), especially when the user activity is less than it was a few years ago. But yeah, a topic of large proportions â something that changes the way you use Hopscotch â usually earns it.
Yeah thatâs very correct!
@FearlessPhoenix i have a question for you! in your bio it says you helped your little brother get featured! what is their user? also, do they have a forum account? you donât have to answer
he doesnt have his own account because of some internet rules our parents have, but he sometimes uses my alt, @FlamePhoenix to publish projects. if he wants to make something, ill let him hop on and start, and then help him along the way. he wanted to try pixel art at some point and loves pokemon so i helped him make this small project: Pokeball pixel art by FlamePhoenix
and messed around with a geometry dash sort of thing earlier (, Dino & Triangle by FlamePhoenix), but the pixel art was the curated project ^~^
he doesnt have a forum acc because of our (family not forum) rules i mentioned above, but iâll occasionally show him compliments and whatnot directed at him/his projects
also just for future reference, these sorts of questions are also perfectly allowed â you can use this topic to get to know your leadership team as well as the policies and whatnot, so always feel free to ask us about us!
Ahh I see. I, too was confused.
@FearlessPhoenix, how is it that I can give solutions to posts on my topic? (I promise that I wonât abuse it) Do you trust me though?
so some categories have solutions enabled â this is a feature that lets topic creators and leads/mods (iirc, it could be everyone tho) mark a topic as âsolvedâ. this basically indicates that a question has been answered, a bug has been fixed or the topic is resolved in some way. categories with this feature include:
solutions can happen without this specific feature but it also just indicates it in a better way. you can see a little in the title and that shows that itâs been fixed. also, it automatically links the post that was marked as the solution conveniently in the OP so that anyone else that runs into the issue can quickly see the problem+fix from a search
Adding on to the post above, yes, thatâs what the feature is for. If you have a topic where someone has found a solution to your topic, such as a fix for your code (#debug-my-code), a Hopscotch feature being added (#meta-hopscotch), or a question answered (#meta-hopscotch), then yeah feel free to mark a post as the solution.
The only one you might want to double check is the #hopscotch-bugs category, where youâd only mark a post as solution if itâs confirmed that the behavior is either not a bug or itâs been fixed (since we donât want to accidentally close a bug report when it still occurs)
also @PM_Studios, going back to this since youâre here:
once you write up the op draft, post it here and tag me, ethan or whoever else is on and weâll look over it for ya. youâll get one of two responses; either a go-ahead to create the topic or some constructive criticism thatll help you reframe the topic in the most effective way and then weâll help you create the best comp possible.
no rush on this, especially since i know its getting a bit late, but just wanted to clarify this all for ya :))
Ok got it!
How do I write a op draft? Is this for the topic I mentioned (just clarifying)
Yeah just write the draft but instead of creating a topic, just post it here
Oh okay! Got It!
I realized that if you lose a badge and donât get it back, it isnât shown as a badge. Why?
because you no longer have that badge. some of them can be lost, like tl badges, cuz theyâre supposed to indicate current tl status.
other badges like reply/tic ones again are for posts with x likes, so if a like gets removed then you can lose a badge if itâs no longer at x likes
Somehow I made a topic this morning and I can still edit the op. Why is that?
The shop? That category is set so you can edit it whenever youâd like.
