I’ll need to bring this up with the rest of the team first, but I do think we could improve on how subscribers get notified about seed purchases made in their games. (Right now there’s not a way to view it in app and they don’t have access to the seed dashboard.)
Oh ok, excited to see it!
I have decided to browse this forum and see the moderation, and wow that is a lot of leaders! It’s pretty crazy to me how much thought has gone into this place.
There’s still a good amount, but a lot of those leaders had to leave because of personal reasons :((
They are always working extra hard to make this place amazing though! Doesn’t go unnoticed!
even without announcement, somehow i have a feeling the general rule now for these topics are that theyre correct as long as it’s temporary and have a clear purpose. and ofc, as long as the topic owner doesnt spam with new topics
@/leaders^^ is that true? /gq
This post was flagged for being off topic and I am wondering How it is
The person asked how to get into code/scripting on a laptop
So I shared some useful tools and provided links and advice
The post got 5 ish likes before being flagged
I was wondering how this was off topic since we are now allowed to reply to new users off topic topics instead of just instantly shutting the topic down
As far as I know no rules were broken and this keeps on happening especially on my more controversial posts because people don’t carefully read the topic, context and post before flagging
it’s not flagged as offtopic for me
doesnt seem flagged for me either, maybe becuase it contained external links?
It says it was flagged for Off topic
but all users have the right to edit the post and remove any thing so I edit the post and added “why is this flagged” so I could re show it
Maybe you’re not allowed to share links to Roblox and stuff like that because of external communication. It might seem like a stupid rule but THT could get in major legal trouble otherwise.
I would imagine that someone might have flagged it because it talks about things that aren’t related to Hopscotch and that the OP asks for Hopscotch advice, but you’re right that you provided information related to the laptop part. But of course, I can’t get inside other people’s minds to figure out the exact flagging reason. I don’t think that we have done a specific statement on Roblox, and while I see that you linked to the developer resources, the link does violate this rule:
Flags will always be reviewed by moderators. If you get an approved flag, remember that we all make mistakes and learn! You might have heard that flags can affect your trust level, but you need several flags for that to actually happen.
(fear stands for fearlessphoenix)
no you dont have to worry fear, the edit history is not about you, i was naming you to confirm something if yuan needs further information
this is the exact reason
dont see how THT could get in legal trouble tho. the rule is to prevent outside communication because it may result in sharing personal information or private things. also, the hopscotch team cant moderate our external communications, so they prohibit anything that could lead up to that.
Child clicks on a link to roblox, makes an account, something bad happens, parent asks “how did you get on this?” child says: oh I clicked a link oh hopscotch! parent takes hopscotch to court for whatever happened to the child and boom HS gets in trouble. Would roblox likely also get sued for more? Yes. Is Hopscotch a smaller company that can’t go around taking risks like that? Also yes.
Hope this helps :)) /gen
the likelihood of THT getting sued because of that is very low, but whatever.
Always better to be safe than sorry imo
Probably, but there are people who like to sue over every little thing
yes, I agree, but i doubt that THT would be sued over ro-blox. and the parents would be more mad at their child than at THT
Interesting point!
Hopscotch TOS makes it near impossible to sue them for this though they say they are not responsible or accountable for users actions
And Roblox TOS well… good luck even thinking about challenging them to court!
Though really, the odds are unlikely but still interesting thought
