How do I create a donation game just like StarLight Studios did?

You have to have the subscription and the seed block, and make a project where people can give you seeds

Wait but scratch doesen’t even have premium features, it only needs kids to code and scratch gets money from donations…

Putting it like that makes it sound bad but really it’s like

Hopscotch provides free education to kids — support them by paying a subscription for their hard work — those people get access to special features so you actually want to pay — people who make seed transfers are helping people out by participating in seed transfers

Well how are kids gonna pay for a subscription (unless they made some from jobs or allowance, but they really dont have a card unless their dad buys it, which is REALLY expensive)
Also hopscotch doesen’t allow new users to create anymore unless you’re a teacher.

I’m sorry to say it but the subscription isn’t going to change because of this complaint so I don’t think it’s the kind/responsible thing to do if we argued about it because it’s going to stay the same. Email help@gethopscotch.com if this really bother you but this won’t get anywhere.

You can make a donation game if you have the sub, otherwise you have to ask someone with the sub to do a seed transfer for you.

If you need seeds, you can ask for them in this topic which is free, just follow the guidelines.

I’m going to set a temporary 5 minute slow mode to just calm this down a bit.

Yes, or seeds they earned from competitions or seed purchases (usually what happens)

Once again, it’s not a waste and supporting THT.

Talking to me or anyone on the forum won’t change anything (unless they are part of THT) if you have a problem don’t tell me but email THT. If you really just want seeds then ask in that topic.

it isn’t a waste. it may not help you, but it helps tht and whoever you donated to. also, people who have the subscription can still donate if they would like to, even if you don’t have it.

Scratch is funded by charities and is a school project.

only specific users have the seed block and they do need to make money somehow

Do you see companies like Google sponsoring the hopscotch team?
No, that’s why hopscotch has the subscription, to be able to fund themselves and actually keep the app running. Making apps actually cost money, if you didn’t know.
When you’re an adult, you’ll need money too, money doesn’t just come out of nowhere. Hopscotch is already a pretty good app. They have to have the subscription to keep it good.
