Hopscotch Roadmap

Android?

HS really needs that wave of new users

Android would bring a lot more downloads, potentially turning into more subscribers

Exactly my point.

Then we can finally play on our smart fridge

I agree.

Maybe there will be as much hopscotchers as scratchers if that happens.

Yay! Strings and colour variables were added!
P.S.: When are we getting custom sounds? IDK why the value is one lol because Hopscotch projects could be so much better with custom sounds.

Custom sounds might be never, and are probably at least somewhere way down the line .
So not for a while would be my guess

True. But maybe sound library expansion is more likely.

I am excited to see “ready for development” next to “fast collisions” :+1:

Hey, @Ana & @AwesomeOnion,

I love that this category is a part of this forum, but it rarely sees any activity, and even when it does, I feel as though it is some of the content gets missed and none of it really makes it to Hopscotch unless it was already planned.

I am aware that there are many circumstances I don’t know about, and that what I described wasn’t what was intended for this category. However, I believe that the community would really like to see some replies or engagement to these ideas from the team, since most of the topics now are just: idea, “cool”, “HS really needs this”, then inactivity for a few months. Then sometimes they get closed for just being old, further decreasing the chance of the idea being seen.

Has there been any plans to add the app to Windows and Mac computers? I’d love to use the app on those systems.

@AwesomeOnion it looks like a few of these have already made it into the app (such as beta editor and z-index). By any chance could you update this? Thanks.

Also, is there any one specific bug tracker or is it entirely based on forum topics?

So what does the“needs design” status indicate?

Is it like already developed but needs design so it’s nearing implementation already?

Rephrased: So between an idea with a “in progress” status” and a “needs design” status, the one with “needs design status” will be implemented sooner? Correct me if I’m wrong.

I think needs design means it needs like what it would look like, like graphics

I’m pretty sure “needs design” means that they’ve pitched the project idea, and have a basic idea of what they want to do, but haven’t gone in depth in figuring out how to do it, and haven’t started programming it yet.

Ohh ok makes sense.

When I first saw the status I thought that the code block needed design and I thought “But it’s simple to make the looks of a code block” so I know that’s not what it means. I wondered what it really means.

Your response clarified it.
