This event/competition/challenge is started by me (@codecrazy) and all the currencies, rewards, and prizes are handled by me, not Hopscotch. You can find other similar self-started events in Competitions & Events, or even start one yourself. Because this is started by me, Hopscotch and the forum leaders are not involved or responsible in any of the transactions here.

There are lots of Comic and/or Object Shows on Hopscotch. And it’s always so fun watching the character you submitted throughout the game/time. What if you could be that character? What if you could be that character put through the challenges? What if you could be the one determining how well your characters doing by how well your doing?

What do you mean I chose my character?

You get to be the character!!! I’ll give you a coding related challenge and you’ll submit a game. The object show results will be based on how good your game is

How will we talk in the object show? Do you choose what we say?

This is you! No, I do not choose what you say! When the game starts this topic is the object show. Whatever you say will be included as your character’s words.

What if I have a question to ask you while the games going on?

If you want to ask me a question while the games going on but you don’t want your character to say it, please follow this exact format:

[this is (@ yourself ‘s) post and my character is not involved]
[insert text here]

During the game time isn’t that considered chat?

We’ll be keeping all talk constructive

And I would like to ask you to not post to frequently and not engage in any full conversations if you have to please edit in the reply to your post

Example:

Code Crazy: time to start the competition! Your first challenge is [insert challenge here]

Player 1: well I think I’m gonna win /lh

Here’s my project:

[insert project here]

Ik it’s so great /j

At the end of the 1 month timeframe someone will be eliminated and then the game is closed. In that time I will be releasing a drawn version on Hopscotch.

So how are the characters actually being shown in the results show? Do people draw their own or do you create them after people submit their projects?

You think you could make it a coded version? :eyes:

In a couple of days I’ll release a signup sheet where people can choose their character. And yes in the drawn version characters will be shown. (If that’s what your asking)

I hypothetically could, though it would be more difficult because of the limited colors you can use to draw an image

Yes you can!
As part of the twist we’ll have both human and object characters
