🎄 Hopscotch Christmas Coding Competition! CODE FOR THE COUNTDOWN!

Hello, HoHoHopscotch! The perfect time of year has come to hold the competition! If you are feeling jolly, then get ready to code!

Rules:

  1. The project must be coded on Hopscotch. If you code it on any platform besides that, it will not be accepted.
  2. It must be positive and show joy.
  3. It must display the date (December 25 (January 6 in Egypt and a few others))
  4. The project must feature something relating to its original meaning
  5. The project must feature a Christmas tree
  6. At least one animated character must be featured, whether it’s a Christmas-themed character that THT includes in the update or whatever.
  7. The project must be published.
  8. The projects must be shared by pasting a link to your submission in your post
  9. The project must feature music (If you are bad at coding music, then you can make music out of a cacophony.)
  10. DO NOT USE THE GRINCH!!!

Judging will be based on the following:

  1. Smoothness
  2. Code complexity
  3. Originality (points will be counted off for copying someone)
  4. Meeting the requirements
  5. Creativity
  6. Positivity
  7. Soundtrack smoothness
  8. Appropriateness
  9. Content amount
  10. Beauty

Also… have you checked that the judges can judge? FP has said they don’t have much spare time, and didn’t vote in the poll you put up.

you only put iPad up there… what about iPhones?

Isn’t the point of the forum to expand hopscotch, not scratch and gamester mechanic? (Even though those platforms are really nice) I mean do whatever you wanna do.

(The title is Jolly Hopscotch Christmas Coding Competition right?)

I’ll see if I have time to make something, but no guarantees

i think it’s official, not jolly lol

It is? Ok, thanks
Thought only leader comps could be official :upside_down_face:
But it’s always cool to see an official community hosted comp

yeah i thought the leads were doing one

ah well

me too

huh okay whatever

Might want to make the title more readable…
And you know you can link projects on iPhone too, not just iPad.

Also who made this official? (I think it says that) Can’t only leaders make things official?
Eh whatever

interesting concept!

that’s… a lot of criteria. how will people have room for creative liberty if all they see is things they “must” include and “must not” include? every entry will be very similar to all the others.

whoops sorry nobody I replied to you instead of cv

I might join you should create a poll if you want to join or be a judge

I’ll participate, but only if this doesn’t end up like the old forum contest

Why don’t you make this just hopscotchers? It’s a hs coding comp and having entries for it from another platform makes no sense.

And like Serenity said, maybe don’t have so much criteria. It’ll reduce creativity and you’ll see a lot of similar entries that aren’t very unique, whichever isn’t necessarily the best thing in a comp.
Having clear guidelines and rule is good but in a comp, maybe don’t have tooo many

Yep, she’s checked with me.

I offered to judge and throw in some prizes.

Thanks for making sure tho

They said they can judge this time.

Why didn’t it work the first time?

It doesn’t matter dude. They will get the idea.

That’s sort of harsh m8.

This time, I decided that it’s just a coding competition and gave them the freedom to use the other two platforms so they don’t have to feel too boxed in.
