Hashtag channels are being used incorrectly

I think you should have a limit of one or two hashtags per project. It’d make things a little less spammy.

i think instead of putting the hashtag in the title, hs need to create a multiple choice list with a max of 1 or 2 channels

Yes and with a warning
‘Your project has to be relevant to the hastag you chose.’

Yeah, I was thinking of something like a report button that the community, although it doesn’t remove the project, instead just giving a small warning not to do it again.

I wonder why they would remove it

they should get some volunteers too manually filter them maybe as like a small team from forum users

@Yuanyuan this would be interesting too bring up with the team

A channel is for what it was built for. Not to be exploited so you can get more likes and plays
Imagine a TV channel that has a sponsor for every living second? That would be annoying. this is the exact same situation

Maybe they forgot to put it back?

Yeah that would work

We’re working to eliminate duplicate projects and remix projects to help reducing spams in the Hashtag channels - I cannot guarantee a date for this release but it will happen!

It’s great to hear that you are working on improving these channels! I was just about to mention that some kind of filtering would be great for the hashtag channels, so it’s cool to hear that you’re working on it.

Good point I got into that mistake once…

SOOOOOOO agreed! I see this ALL the time! When #story came out, I loved it because of all the great stories! But you can look and find a ton of JUNK. :unamused: Whatever happened to the hashtag channels?!?

@yuanyuan is this a thing yet? i think this issue has eased up a bit except there are a few people who put every hashtag in every project.

Bump

I think one thing that’ll really help is to limit the number of hashtags that can be used for a single project to 1.

I mean, I don’t see it occurring very often that ppl will legitimately need to use more than one tag at a time for their project.

Maybe 2? Because a lot of projects are a trail/shape/pixel art with music in the background

True, and 2 will still be better than unlimited.

Maybe, building off of the idea with having a multiple choice, you can choose one hashtag/theme that best suits the project, and then another secondary hashtag/theme (optional)
