It looks like people were able to provide helpful instructions.
I think it would be bad if someone goes and say “you’re not supposed to post here, delete this”, which is unhelpful for a new user
Hope this makes sense!

no, i mean leaving it open for a while :))
Sorry if this is the wrong topic I just thought it fit the whole concerns thing, I know this is brought up before but can people stop bumping so much it’s starting to get a bit annoying sometimes because I go to check on what people are up to and it’s a bump for a topic 5 years old, bumping can be good (and I do it occasionally) but can we please try to not do it as much?
I understand if you bump a topic from years ago to get it clived and closed but most of the time it’s not and stays open so maybe you could post the link to a topic that should get clived/closed and then a leader can respond if it should or not.
I’m not calling out anyone in particular btw
I wait this post or people posting the links?
I don’t understand
to add on to this, bumping is only useful when you have something to add to the subject. if you bump simply for the sake of bumping, that is not helpful nor productive. for example, in a suggestion for hopscotch topic, if you say something like this:
wow, this suggestion is really cool! i think if you elaborated on it more, it could possibly be implemented!
compared to this:
bump! this topic is really old!
you can see how one post continues the conversation and one just adds an off-topic post to an otherwise productive topic.
bump
Is this still in use?
I remember Jazz
yes

why is it not allowed to share weather temperature?
Maybe if some super determined weirdo had something to search all weather and temperature things and then compare them to yours to see the general area you live in which has a really low chance of happening (and likely will never lol)
I do think this rule should be lifted as that’s a wild scenario…
temperature has a high error range and every source varies - so as long as the user doesnt say something like “hey i see that x tornado next to my house” or anything extremely specific, im strongly against that rule
Yeah it’s kinda one of those rules that’s there for the 0.000000001% chance something bad happens lol
I agree with you though
I had to delete my post because I shared a temperature, the temperature was an example of when it was really cold in my area. it wasn’t even recent, the temperature was from the winter of 2020. and it was just an average temperature.
imo, the rule should be lifted. one thing that shouldnt happen is: you get close to breaking that rule and you somehow get in trouble. the temperature was even a few degrees off, and it was 3 years after it happened.
I guess I’ll add my opinion to this
I think the rule should be lifted. As y’all know you can share a time zone. (Since they are over a wide range) Same thing could be applied to weather. Winter snow storms, heat waves, etc happen over a broad range.
For example
“Hey sorry I could help with the collab, I have had a really bad snow storm! Nocked out my power for a bit. I hope I do don’t affect y’all to much! ;>”
Pretty harmless post, don’t ya think?
You thought I was going to say but blablba, haha tricked ya
But really it is quite an interesting discussion and I hope to see some change in the future
Do keep in mind though that it is not this one piece of information alone that is worrying, but in combination with other things it can get quite concerning quickly. I definitely recommend avoiding sharing too much at all, even if it does not seem very useful to someone trying to use it maliciously.
