FTM’s Second Official Marker Jam

This event/competition/challenge is started by me (@MarkerGames) and all the currencies, rewards, and prizes are handled by me, not Hopscotch. You can find other similar self-started events in #competitions-and-events, or even start one yourself. Because this is started by me, Hopscotch and the forum leaders are not involved or responsible in any of the transactions here.

Welcome to the Second Oficial Marker Jam!!!

Yes, I know what you’re thinking. “@MarkerGames! You can’t do that! It’s only been half a month since the first jam!”
Well, it’s my game jam, and I make the rules.
But just for you guys, I’m organizing the instructions into dividers.
And please don’t procrastinate, the first one only had one submission.

Deadlines and Themes

The competition will begin on 2023-02-25T16:30:00Z, when the theme will be announced. The competition will last a week this time, lasting up until 2023-03-04T18:30:00Z, where all submissions must be published and linked to this topic before 2023-03-05T16:15:00Z, meaning that you’ll have to be very active in order to get a chance at the podium. A bonus theme will be announced on 2023-03-01T16:30:00Z, which you can include in your game for extra points. Results will be announced on 2023-03-07T18:30:00Z.

Scoring

This time, scores can go up to 150 points. These are the different ways you can earn points to improve your score.

Theme up to 30 points (Points are earned in this category by how prominently the theme is displayed in the game)
Bonus Theme up to 20 points (Points are earned in this category by how prominently the bonus theme is displayed in the game)
Entertainment up to 20 points (Points are earned in this category by how entertaining the game is in general)
Content up to 20 points (Points are earned in this category by how much content the game has)
Creativity up to 15 points (Points are earned in this category by how creative the game is)
Gameplay up to 15 points (Points are earned on how interesting the gameplay is and on how much it fits with the theme).
Mechanics up to 10 points (Points are earned in this category by how interesting the game is and how enjoyable the in-game mechanics are)
Complexity up to 10 points (Points are earned on how many usually hard-to-code features are included in the game)
Polish up to 10 points (Points are earned on how clean the game looks)

Judging

I will be judging all submissions by myself, and I will do my best to judge projects with the least amount of bias possible, which I will do well in, since I have little bias overall, and would be a terrible debater and see much sense on the opposite team’s words.

Prizes

All participants will recieve:
-3 likes on a project of choice and 20 drops of ink (@MarkerGames)

1st place
-20 likes on a project of choice and 50 markers (@MarkerGames)

Awesome! I won’t participate though… I’m too busy this time, but I do like to give 10 Energy Coins to the winner!

you might wanna change the deadline, people may be busy with the Valentines Day Comp

Wait, it’s begun already? :0

no lol, your comp starts the day after Valentines Day, so depending on when the Valentines Comp starts you might want to change the date.

Hmm…

Okay, my comp begins the same day as valentine comp. I really wanted to make each jam last only in the month, but if this one treads only a few days over March…

I cant compete, busy with some big projects. but I can judge.

yeah, you might have to make adjustments

Sorry…

But I’ve let deadlines tread on over to March now, making things a bit more convenient for people who plan on competing in the valentine comp.

@MarkerGames I just added the appropriate tag to your comp. Tag me on Feb 25, and I’ll update the tag to “in-progress”

Yep, thanks! I didn’t know there was a not started tag, but I know for the rest, like prizes pending and complete. :]
And I added some more tags :]
