Discuss moving out the Help With Code topics

Keep continuing to re-evaluate our needs, and reflect upon:

  • what we thought we wanted
  • does this achieve what we wanted?
  • is it actually what we wanted?
  • are there other ways that add</>ress our needs also?
  • if needs not met, make updates/changes, live with it
    & repeat reflection

(This is not a method or anything. Just things to think about. I think this is just what I’m doing with part of my life actually :grin::joy:)

Approximately how long do you plan to keep help with code accessible?

Hi ISNBN! I am just leaving it open at the moment, and seeing how we’re going, along with watching for people’s suggestions.

— I’m not sure at the moment that:

  • do we want to be able to edit the categories of them all still? Are we alright with having lots of topics still in HwC?

And if there’s nothing much said over at least the next day or so, maybe it is an indicator that we can leave it as it was before too. :thinking: I’m just going off the community at the moment :slight_smile: as initially it was our wish to be able to view the topics, and edit the categories of at least a few of them.

I am thinking about maybe a week or so, enough time for people to move topics that are important to them. After that, you can close the category.

Poll:

I feel this discussion is a bit localised. Is this big enough to affect most forumers?

Should we put a banner? I’d probably put something like this:

You can move topics out of the old Help With Code category

We can move at least the most important topics out. At the moment we’re thinking about leaving the category open for a week. Discuss more about all this here as well if you need help with anything.

Excuse me i hope you dont mind but can you PLEASE move out my first topic and the british q&a? Also maybe @Fluffymarshmellow’s topic? I cant really do it because i’m member

I know my first topic is closed but it contains history relevant to me and others and would be nice if it was possible it could be opened again. The british q&a is probably just banter but still contains some good information. Same for fluffymarshmallow’s topic.
Also maybe ask my friends if they want their topics out of ‘help with code’

This is a good enough point so I will make a banner. I was going to check something initially first (– with bulk moving topics in a category…)
