Delete no longer works with math blocks in set text blocks

What kind of device are you using?: iPad 9.7 iOS V 15

1 sentence description of the problem (I was doing _________, and then __________ happened): I was testing a math problem with a text object. I added “Set Text to ( Height) color (black)”
It worked as expected, and I went back to change the height variable to a math problem and it wouldn’t delete, with the delete button in the lower right hand corner or the keypad delete. This is maneuverable, since I can just delete the text block and add a new one, but it’s frustrating if I need to hurry.

Steps that the Hopscotch team can take to reproduce my problem every time:

1. Add a blank text object
2. Set text to a variable
3. Try to delete it
4. Experience frustration
   ….

I expected this to happen: the Height var to delete

But instead this happened: nothing

It also doesn’t delete addition, multiplication, subtraction or division blocks.

go to text (left side of the button “done”), write something and quit
this is only a temporary fix

Did you try selecting the variable and choosing “delete” from the pop up menu?

Ok, so the real bug is that the deletion didn’t get rendered correctly. So it looks like it wasn’t deleted. But once I tapped out of the set text block (by tapping a blank space) after deleting the variable, the variable disappeared.

Ok, I did some testing, and it seems to not render the deletion when the entire operator or variable in the set text is deleted, until tapping out of the set text block. I’m sure this is an easy fix for THT.

• Delete Variable in math operator in set text: shows deletion as normal
• Delete the entire math operator or variable in set text: doesn’t render the deletion until a blank spot it tapped. Could this be caused by the frame not updating properly?
