Dear Hopscotch Team

THT would have to spend tons time making waivers/contracts, contacting parents, etc. Just to talk outside the forum. With how small THT is that would be extremely difficult.

I think that would be a great idea in theory, but too much for the size of THT.

very true

Yeah I know, I’m saying that they’re doing it out of care for the children.

That’s true. Although, they might be able to get some of the olders Leaders to help with that, and they could make it so that you’d only need to get it signed once; if two people already had it signed in the past, they could make a request without going through the trouble of getting it signed again.

I dont think that old leaders are going to come back to check waivers of talking on discord imo

Again: When did I say it had to be Dis‭cord?
I mean any platform where people can talk to each other in general.
Also, I meant older in age.

tru, and THT would need to pay them—unless it’s an intern position. but they’d have to go through special training

Well replace “discord” with any other social media and my point still stands.

It doesn’t though, as I meant Leaders who are older in age. Obviously, each Leader who is eligible would have the choice of not doing it.

Yes it does, all platforms can have creeps and inappropriate conversations, which is why I dont think THT should let people talk outside the forum

Here’s an easy fix.

Parents should just teach their kids good safety principles on how to use the internet.

Some parents don’t teach that. Hopscotch is sort of taking on that role, which is fine. But Hopscotch can’t force anyone to do anything, they can only encourage good behavior. But that’s not gonna stop anybody.

Sorry, I thought you meant this point: “I dont think that old leaders are going to come back to check waivers of talking on disc‭ord imo”
You’re saying that ex-Leaders won’t come back to do this, which is probably true, when I meant older in age.

For once I 100% agree with someone

So many forum operate almost perfectly with our so many restrictions (Roblox dev forum, etc)

This would probably never happen though

Honestly it’s really great to see another user help express their feelings about the forum

I think it would be tricky to operate this though
Maybe it could be a regular only thing

Since that would help get rid of the issue of a random online creep

Maybe users would have to agree before they could see a certain thing that’s shows their contact issue

Also Hopscotch already says that they aren’t responsible for anything that happens to a user
(Read the terms of service)

I agree with you and hope tht would atleast look at this topic

Bingo it prevents you from doing anything to them

Even dmca take downs are hard to against them

Regular is a little high, even Member would do, along with the other things such as parental consent.
Or, keeping the Member minimum, we could just go with what JonnyGamer said. If a parent doesn’t teach their child internet safety before letting them use the Internet, that’s on the parent.

Yeah but they should also simply care about children’s safety lol

I’ve actually wondered how this hasn’t happened yet.
