Cutelittlekittycat’s pixel art method

This is a pixel art how to

Here we go!!!

First add a blank text object and put “when game starts” on it

Then add set variable and create a game variable, name it pixel size, set it to any size you want.

After, add repeat times and in the bubble scroll to variables and press pixel size, add create a clone

Next, add a “when object is cloned”

delete all the pre made custom blocks (optional, it just makes it easier)

Now create a new custom block and name it “black pixel”

Inside the custom block add a draw a trail block

Set the colour to black and set the width to 1

In the move forward bubble add the “clone index” variable and set it to self

Then add a change y block and set it to “self clone index multiply -1”

Add a move forward block again and set it to “self clone index multiply-1”

Then add a change y block and set it to “self clone index”

Add a set position block in the custom block but over the draw a trail block

In the set position x add “self x position + pixel size” then in the y add “self y position”

Then create another when object is cloned block and add set speed 4000

And you are done! See if you can figure out move right, move up, move left, and move down

great tutorial, but remember that every picture you post costs tht’s money

Hey there, these images are very helpful and give us a walkthrough tutorial on a very daunting topic. While it is true that images do cost tht money for you to post, tht also appreciates posts that teach others a lot more than they care about how much money they spend on the forum. This doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t be mindful of how many images we post, but we should also not be afraid to post images occasionally when they’re very useful!

hey, i understand that pictures are important to explain this pixel art methods. I didn’t mean that they shouldn’t use pictures, i meant they can post less images. For example, we don’t need a picture explaining that we have to add a “when game starts” thing, it can definitely be deleted and we’ll perfectly understand.

In saying that we can just post 1 image with all the steps

it could be hard to understand because this method is long

Just a small reminder to stay on topic

A quick note about the images, it’s ok to post as many images as you need to make a tutorial understandable for everyone. Again, it is something we should keep in mind, but let’s not turn a discussion about a pixel art method into a discussion about when we should be posting images.

With that out of the way –
This is a super detailed tutorial, and thanks for making it easy to follow for people who haven’t done any pixel art before!
