Custom Tags Without Custom Groups

I found a way to tag multiple people with one tag without editing tags out or using custom groups!

@CustomTagGroups

This uses the html tags , <h2>, <small>, and <a>.

How to do it
  • First, decide who you are going to add to the tag group
  • Use the tag to overlap text and <small> to make existing tags fit under the custom tag. The purpose of <h2> is to correct text size and <a class=“mention”> creates this
    (Examples of sub tag below)

⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ Text No. 1
⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣2nd Text
⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ Three 3
⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ Number 4

This is the format you should end up with:

<h2>

<small><small><small><small><small><small><small><small><small><small><small><small><small><small><small><small>
@Tag1 @Tag2
@Tag3 @Tag4
@and_so_on
</small></small></small></small></small></small></small></small></small></small></small></small></small></small></small></small>
<a class="mention">@CustomTagGroups</a>

</h2>

Important Stuff to Remember:

  • 16 <small> tags make the user tags the minimum size
  • You may be able to fit more tags per line, but that depends on the length of your custom tag (in my case @CustomTagGroups could probably fit 5 or 6)
  • There is no user limit with this method
  • You can create these whenever and don’t need them to be created for you
  • I suggest keeping your custom tag lists on a Google Doc or bookmark post so you can refer back to them later.
  • Pay attention to the quotes in the <a class="mention"> text. Make sure you use "these", not “these”. Avoiding quotes completely also seems to work: <a class=mention>

OMTL is tagged on post 2 to prove that I didn’t mass tag post 1

Your Text: <a class=“mention”>@Muffin’sUltimateTagGroup</a>
Correct Text: <a class="mention">@Muffin’sUltimateTagGroup</a>
Correct Text: <a class=mention>@Muffin’sUltimateTagGroup</a>
Look at the quotation marks, or don’t use quotes at all. Either way works.
