Crash on iOS 12.1.1 on HS 3.33.0 which isn't happening on older iOS versions

What kind of device are you using?: An iPad released in 2018

1 sentence description of the problem (I was doing _________, and then __________ happened): I was trying to get a high score on my game, I reached 8000, got happy, then it crashed!

Steps to make the problem happen:

  1. Make project.
  2. Make a counter that goes up every frame.
  3. Let it go to big number.
  4. Crash.

I expected this to happen: It wouldn’t crash.

But instead this happened: It crashed.

It was probably an overload for the app


But how come @Awesome_E was able to get over 12000? Explain more to me please.


Idk maybe he has a different kind of iPad that can get higher before hs crashes

Yes. I think three. I tried beating @Awesome_E’s high score, but it crashed a lot.


Try to report this to THT then. Or did you get a message like “Hopscotch quit unexpectedly - do you want to report this?” when Hopscotch crashed?

This bug seems to only affect iOS 12.1 and above.
I have iOS 11 on my iPad and had no issues with crashing.
This bug used to happen with the same type of thing on a way older version


Didn’t do that for me.
Maybe some devices can’t handle big amounts for a variable?


I have gotten that message one or maybe even a few times - so I know that it is possible on Hopscotch at least.


This is now fixed, it’s the same bug that @PeppyWafer21 mentioned.
