1 sentence description of the problem (I was doing _________, and then __________ happened):
I set a text to another text, and an emoji from the former remained.
Steps that the Hopscotch team can take to reproduce my problem every time:
- Create a text object that contains an emoji (not sure, but I think there has to be text both before and after it)
- Insert a set text block
- Play the project (you may have to restart it)
I expected this to happen:
The text to change to what was in the set text block
But instead this happened:
The text changed, but the emoji didn’t go away
Here’s a sweet screenshot:

I’ve seen this happen multiple times, and I think it can be fixed by inserting a blank set text block before the set text block with your new text. Also, I haven’t tried it with a blank text object with a set text block with your original text followed by one with your new text (which would probably be more organized anyways).
In other words, it’s not hard for me to avoid, but some newer users may run into this and not know how to fix it.
I did search before I posted, but if I overlooked a similar topic, I apologize.
