Bug when selecting all text to delete

Use this template to make awesome bug reports:

1 sentence description of the problem (I was doing _________, and then __________ happened): I was editing text, and selected all then deleted it, but only the last character was deleted.

Steps to make the problem happen:

  1. Go to a text field
  2. Select all
  3. Delete it.
  4. Tap out of it, but don’t tap check.

I expected this to happen: All the text would be deleted

But instead this happened: Only the last character was.

Here’s a sweet screenshot: image
For some reason the player was delayed a bit in this gif.

How can I drink juice with @Petrichor on the box?

Interesting bug.

This has happened to me so many times and it is very annoying, I’ll copy and paste a story paragraph and then edit it, and it would be all messed up…

Weird. Does the “shake to undo” feature work as a temporary workaround if

I stil think that THT should be notified about this though.

As in “messed up”, some of the last paragraph would be before the middle paragraph, and I would have to restart and delete the text that i ut down.

Just press check!!! The code doesn’t update until you press check!

But it also doesn’t work sometimes
I tried it a few times.

That’s happened to me too! I delete a whole text but some text is left!

Oh, yeah, I have this bug. It’s super annoying. I have to delete a few words and save it. Delete a few more words, and save it. It’s so annoying.
@CodeHelp, I know you help with code, but would you help with this, too?

I don’t really think so.

He was being sarcastic.
If I could can create an big competition many people will participate in…

Well, it was really unnoticeable…

I think this is something THT have to fix since it’s a problem with how the Editor is working.

It sounds possibly related to COAN’s bug where the last digit typed doesn’t save. @awesomeonion (see OP for description of only the last text character being deleted)

Text fields do weird things, especially upon deletion.
When you hit backspace, it only deletes the last character, no matter what is selected or where your cursor is. The text field that went blank is what iOS thought it should be, but the result is what HS computed.
You can fix this problem by typing anything after deletion. This will re-calibrate and fix any text deletion issues. (You are not the first to experience this)

Makes sense. I will have to try that on my Ebooks project.
