Let’s say for example I nominate foolanita project and their project gets masterpiece.
There should be badges for nominations for the person who nominated them (in this example, me)

- No

Pls give feedback
So wait like you get something if you didn’t make the game? I might be reading it wrong lol by brain is maxed out for the day
then me and starlight are due for like around 100 badges and ae should have 1000 badges lolol
You nominated the game
If you didn’t think to nominate, chances are they would not have gotten to a category.
If they didn’t get a category you obv don’t get anything
It could probably be for masterpiece and top games only
No they would lol… almost everygame we curate hasn’t been in that topic and you can mainly thank ae for that since he created an incredible tool for grabbing those obscure projects
I meant the person who gets the project and puts in the topic, “Nominate your project”
They would get the badge only if the project gets in a certain category
What would the badge be called? “Nominator”?
Yeah
Like masterpiece nominated and etc
Interesting idea. I think your plan has maybe a couple kinks in it but overall an intriguing concept.
I think that in many cases the games that people here nominate are often overlooked and hidden gems that are brought to the attention of forumers via a nonination. I would say it would deserve maybe a bronze level badge/award as it isn’t too tricky to nominate a project.
But it could have a creative name like the community badges. Treasure Hunter or Fossicker alluding to the idea that people that nominated a game had to dig through Hopscotch for games that curators might not have seen.
thats not the point, the point is if the badge gets masterpiece/top games cuz those are hard to get
Yeah I know but I’m saying most of the time posting doesn’t change the fact if it’s curated or not, you guys just help with our decision
Also how would that prevent people from just voting masterpieces on anything they nominate to get a badge? Is it enough work to warrant someone getting a badge for just posting a nomination? Wouldn’t this also make spamming project nominations to get badges a thing
I don’t want to shun down your idea but I just don’t know why anyone should get a rare badge for doing nothing
Hold on idk why this was marked solution I don’t know if it was accidentally pressed
it could be tweaked but i think its a promising idea (maybe give feedback on changes)
accidentally pressed, was going for heart button
Can you just respond to what I said? I really would strongly vote against this unless those are addressed because those are really big issues…
i did?
exactly what issues?
These issues
I mean yeah, but it shouldn’t be a high level badge because the person didn’t make the game or whatever, just nominated it and it happened to get masterpiece.
The person nominated would get recognition for finding a cool game but not as much of an award as if they had made the game.
From a curator’s perspective, I think this badge is a really great idea in concept. However, we’re actually at the point right now where we’re able to look through the entirety of all published projects every single day in newest with a pretty high level of accuracy and consistency for what games get featured.
So while you would certainly be incentivizing people to look for good projects, it does ultimately end up playing out as @/KayStarot said:
If you think this still provides extra value or you’re not sure about certain parts of our curation process, I think I’d be open to answering any questions you might have.
haven’t read through all these posts but if it becomes a badge, it should be like the “autobiographer” or “first like” (i think that’s a badge i forgot). nominating a project is cool so it should be a bronze colored badge like “first nomination” or something like that i guess. shouldn’t be silver or gold though because even if the game you nominated reached masterpieces, it’s likely the curators anyways got to that project first with whatever tools they’re using
idk if the badge is really needed though
