Backpack! Super clean and super easy!

Suggestion: Add a backpack feature like in Scratch!
This feature is going to help a lot of people!
It will allow for easy code reusage along multiple projects, which will simplify making Hopscotch code.
Here’s how it is going to work:
A Hopscotch Backpack can have slots which can hold

  • objects
  • multiple objects
  • folders of objects
If an object has a custom rule or a custom block, save the code as well.

Interface?
Saving objects:

  • In Stage view, hold down an object and choose Save to Backpack
  • In List view, hold down an object and choose Save to Backpack

Saving multiple objects

  • In List view, tap the New! Select button; choose all the objects you want, then tap the New! Options button near where the Select button was and choose Save to Backpack.
  • Idea Same can be done for the Stage view?

Managing your Backpack

  • Your Backpack and its contents can be shown as a new section in the New Object panel.
Whenever you place an object from the Backpack, its code is saved and therefore, there.
If the object had custom rules, they should be copied over as well.
  • To make folders, press the button with a plus in the Backpack section; then drag the objects in your new folder.
(alternative less time solution) Drag one object onto another, like on iOS to make a folder.

Moderation

  • When you place an item in your Backpack, the author gets stored as well.
Then, when you publish a project, if you copied somebody’s code over using the Backpack, this can be shown in the thumbnail’s corner:
    :capital_abcd: Username
kinda like when your remix a project, it shows who made the original!

I think that this is a great idea! Would love to hear your feedback about it!

This has already been asked

Back Pack In hopscotch - Hopscotch General - Hopscotch Forum (gethopscotch.com)

they did say they would add this but no yet.

It would be useful. In my ipad, I have hundreds of hopscotch photos of code from other people that i use, it can be a pain to find a specific code (grids, scroll, recursion, and etc)

In such cases, what I did is take multiple screenshots of the code and then replicate it :skull:

Most of the time I’d say Hopscotch doesn’t always seem to keep promises when it comes to adding stuff but they did add the undo/redo so I would assume they’d add the backpack feature too
