I think there should definitely be one for shape, pixel and trail art. I think there should also be one for drawing, but it should be separate
I’m not sure how people would make sure only relevant posts are put in each section though

yeah, i think it was because some channels often had more projects than others which caused more people to make that kind of project

Hopscotch had this tab before I think. But it also would be cool if they brought it back but if you just had the art tab, then there would most likely be other categories like it (like games, sports, learn, etc etc) and that would make the tabs a lot more confusing. But yes it would be awesome if they brought it back!

Really? One of my old projects that were in the old art channel (in an old account haha) got moved to the excellent tab. Did you ever try checking there maybe?

@AECREATION i know this is for coded art, but SBYP. ive explained this elsewhere before and youd know why its gone and why we dont have plans atm to bring it back.

The thing with themed tabs is that, if/when we do them, there’s a very fine line that has to be walked.
We had split Excellent up into a bunch of different tabs based on the kind of project a long time ago, but curating with that was such a pain. Hopscotch has something of a trend in project types, so with project-type themed tabs, there’ll always be one tab that gets more projects and one that gets less. During a pixel art craze, the coded art/art tab would be overflowing and projects wouldn’t get attention, while other tabs like the Puzzle tab would grow stagnant because there weren’t any curation-worthy puzzle projects.

That being said, the artist community is super valued and we do the to occasionally showcase awesome art projects on the curated channels. If you see any that you really like, feel free to nominate them here. But sometimes, it’s just not necessarily viable or practical to do things like having an entirely new tab yknow.

Yeah. We noticed that was happening and it was just a bit more viable to clump them all together again haha. I can bring up the idea of splitting them up again but it’ll take a lot of work to figure out what categories to use so the same thing doesn’t happen again

I think I read somewhere that there used to be a drawing tab.

There was just a general Art tab, it was mostly coded art but we did feature awesome drawings there too

There was a coded art tab back when I first joined, but it was removed along with other tabs like this due to there being a project imbalance. Now, I think this could exist as a week-long channel tab (the tab that was there before top games) because the projects would most likely be less recent than the permanent tab was.

It would be nice it was still there, I loved it. It was a place where I could find the best coded art in one place. Eventually, I’m guessing, a solution to the project imbalance will be fixed, or modified in a way that works better.

This is a great idea, but I think Hopscotch removed the drawing tab for a reason. I do not see it coming back, as HS is a coding app.
