Add Gifs To Projects

A feature I’d like to see in Hopscotch is:

ability to import gifs into hopscitch projects

I’d use it for this type of project:

add animations in better and/or small video clips

Here are some examples of Hopscotch code that could be improved if we had this:

things like ads like in my game dragons sandbox

Here is an example design I’ve made:

instead of adding a image in the project add a gif

I’ve seen something similar in another programming languages, it looks like this:

not sure

GIFs would be cool. Perhaps it could be affected by the Change Pose block like the Hopscotch characters. Would be better than adding multiple frames images for one single short animation.

I’ve thought of this for a long time, but I never made a topic about it!

You can do this by using images with the Change Pose block. GIFs would be cool, but I’m not sure if it’d be top priority since you can technically already do this. Correct me if I’m wrong—I don’t use Advanced Mode.

You can do it, but it looks choppy. I would love to be able to add gifs!

Ah, ok, then gifs might be cool.

This would definitely be cool! It would be extra cool if you had blocks to play/pause gifs, skip to a certain frame, etc. (although I don’t know much about the gif file format, so maybe that isn’t possible.)

GIFs (AKA Graphic Interchange Format) are image formats used to capture a short scene of moving images in a movie-like format. GIFs usually loop repeatedly instead of play once.
