A Smasher’s Life

This is the game I have been working on for the past week.

In this game, you control a smasher who will go through 16 levels. In each of these levels, there will be enemies which you must fight. They will shoot bullets at your smasher and to defeat them, you must ram into them. Finally, you will fight the biggest boss: the Overlord.

@Tri-Angle, I’m going to stick with single barrel tanks because the enemies won’t be able to move.

About the levels:
In each level there will be an unlimited grid, just like a platformer, with the display being 8 x 6, however, there are no tiles, just a grid background. But, in some of the grey squares, there are enemies, walls, boost-ups and the starting point. The first 3 level will have no boost-ups.

I hope that wasn’t too confusing…
If it is I’ll create a template.

  • draw the tank in one square (just color it blue)
  • draw walls by colouring a square yellow
  • draw the starting point by colouring a square green
  • draw walls around the entire level

Got it, but I need a little more help with the rules of the game, to make sure I don’t waste time with the map.
So I’m asking some questions:

Is the tank the enemy, and the smasher the player?

Is the starting point for the player or the enemy?

How do you move?
