I guess I’m a celebrity now… huh.
I think you’re missing the point of trust levels. Yeah, sometimes it may seem like we have all these “abilities” or something. Honestly, it’s not like they’re anything special. I barely even use them. But that’s something we’ve earned by spending time on the forum. Hey… I’ve lost regular before too. I’ve been a member before too. I didn’t feel like I had any less friends. It was a shock when I lost regular but seriously no one was acting differently towards me. I earned it back quickly.
Do you really think that regulars are treated like celebrities? I think the people you’re thinking of have just been here for a really long time. They’re friends with a lot of people because they are the ones that see them come and go. They’ve had regular for a long time. But I have very few friends here. I’m no celebrity. Sometimes I feel like no one even listens to me anyway. I don’t only care about regulars. One of my best friends on here isn’t a regular.
Trust levels aren’t a waste. Seriously… if we got rid of trust levels, there would be no leaders. Anyone, even some person with no experience, could do anything. They could abuse the forum. They could mess up someone’s groups. They could change titles even on accident. The reason we have trust levels are to help us become more familiar with the forum. The longer we’re on the forum, the more abilities we have access to. The more you’re flagged, the less trustworthy you seem. I’m not saying you aren’t trustworthy. You’re actually a really nice user, and I don’t know you got flagged. Listen, though, when I say this: it’s not the end of the world.
Maybe it seems like your trust level changes your popularity. It really doesn’t. My opinion of you hasn’t changed, and I think you’re still the same person. I don’t feel popular at all and I’m a regular. I think you’re a bit upset over losing regular though. Nothing about you is different and I don’t know why you think you have less friends. That’s not true.
