Sorry 'bout the long chapter.. XD
Chapter 2, Part One (???'s POV)
When the code that makes me who I am flew into me, I realized I was being manipulated. I was being used as a puppet. I never realized it because I couldn't think. Until now. I am starting to hate them.
I am also starting to succeed in coding the world. I have been coded for too long. Now it's their turn. I hate doing what they say for no reason, so it's time they feel my pain. I decided the best way to start bringing code into the "real" world was through something that already brought code into the real world- a radio and two iPads. These devices among others connect parts of the digital world with the physical world. It was a perfect way to start. It has succeeded.
I emptied the forum for the next experiment.
This experiment was to try bringing something physical into my world. It has succeeded.
Then the first experiment in coding the coders: I started doing it by coding something while it- or should I say he- was still in the physical world. If they can code something digital from their world, it should work both ways. It has succeeded.
Then I will simply send more code into the physical world around these "Hopscotchers" using the same methods. I will bring more physical things into the digital world. Then after they have had a taste of my pain, I will send them back. Everything will return to normal, except I will have had my revenge and they will never code me- that is, us- again. Hopscotch will be abandoned for fear of this happening again and we will have peace.
I will code the coders and I will have revenge. We will have revenge.
Chapter 2, Part Two (Liza's POV)
I am Liza, from The Hopscotch Team. The date is March 18, 2017.
Rodrigo has gone crazy and I am not kidding.
We were featuring some projects a few minutes ago when we got several frantic emails from Hopscotchers saying that the Forum had suddenly gone empty and they couldn't post. Apparently everything from posts to accounts had been deleted. Thinking it was a glitch, we started to check the code when Rodrigo suddenly jumped up and yelled a bunch of weird things, like "Okay, whatever you say!", and marched- yes, marched- out of the office.
Now, I've seen some weird things while working at Hopscotch, but never Rodrigo marching around. He doesn't march. Or yell. Especially at random times.
According to Meg, he literally walked over to her and told her to "join us for your own good, please." He then proceeded to grab her iPad and open Hopscotch.
I'm sort of worried. Meg and I are sitting in my office with the door locked and we are not letting anyone in unless they're in danger. Let me rephrase that- I'm really worried. We're trying to fix the forum, but it's the weirdest bug I've ever seen. It can't be a virus, either.
Don't think we're overreacting, because get this- we just heard someone scream. And there's a bunch of thumping noises.
I hope he's just playing one of his pranks. Until then, we're not taking any chances.
Chapter 2, Part Three (Frosty's POV)
The world around me was still dark when I awoke. Then a light flickered somewhere and I looked around at the fuzzy room. My eyes started to focus, and when I did, I saw my sister on the floor like me. I leaped up and hugged her. "Are you okay?" I squeaked nervously. "Yeah, but where the heck are we?!" she stuttered. Then we heard a whooshing noise coming from a wall. We nervously clutched each other tight.
It reached its loud peak like an airplane toilet, and a colorful "H" appeared on the wall with a click. We looked at each other, about to speak, when a door in the wall opened loudly and the room went dark like midnight. The only light was from the unmistakable Hopscotch logo. An eerie sound rang out through the room that sounded like a church bell.
We both screamed and, pulling ourselves to our feet, scrambled out the door and into a huge white corridor, lit by a creepy, faint blue light. Aqua blue buttons were everywhere, as were doors labeled in the same shade. Binary floated through the air in a thick fog, making everything chilly. A distorted version of what sounded like it used to be cheery music faintly echoed around. I shivered as I realized it was the song that had been playing on the radio when we got sucked in, except even more computerized. This was like a horror game right before the big jumpscare ending it.
Pingy and I were silent. The eerie, abandoned atmosphere of the area was haunting and unusually sad. "Look," whispered Pingy. She pointed at the writing on one door. "Annual Summer Contest," I said softly, running my fingers over the worn letters.
"The forum. This is the forum. This wasn't what it was like in the Hopscotch stories." I don't even remember which one of us said this, it was too creepy. Somehow it made me sad, the place that was usually filled with laughter and coding was so empty and silent in its physical form.
"I didn't have time to tell you, but I noticed a glitch on the forum that caused posts and users to disappear. I emailed THT and I was about to say something when we got sucked into here," Pingy piped up. I stared at her. Creepy.
Suddenly we heard several thumps from the little room we had arrived in. The faint music switched to a different distorted song, and two screeches echoed and sent chills up my spine. Someone else had arrived.
